Inventory Runs

Physical Inventory Run Selection Screen

Unify3 allows you to create Physical Inventory runs by a wide range of range and criteria methods. Select an inventory run by Item Number, Department, Subdepartment, Description, Group, Vendor, Stock Location, and Random Cycle Count.

The only method that requires no user input is the "Random Cycle Count". This method simply creates a physical inventory run header record and displays the run number to the user. This run number will then be entered into the handheld device(s) being used to perform the physical inventory.

An item with multiple barcodes will appear in the physical inventory run multiple times (i.e., if an item has two barcodes linked to it then the item will be in the physical inventory run twice). This is a must since handheld devices will usually scan the barcode and report back to Unify the barcode number not the item number.

Updating Physical Inventory Runs

Unify allows the user to update any physical inventory run that is open. The physical inventory header record can be updated as well as any physical inventory line item. The "Update Date" can be updated by the user, however it is automatically updated by Unify3 any time a change is made to the physical inventory run. The "Counter[1]" and "Counter[2]" fields can also be updated by the user. Unify3 loads the counter fields from the handheld device(s) when it is being used.

Unify3 uses an updateable database browser to update the physical inventory line information. Unify3 allows you to update the Count 1, Count 2 and Damaged quantities.

The use of an updateable browser allows the operator to quickly update the counts of their choice.

Posting Physical Inventory Runs

After creating an Inventory Run, the status will be Open. Posting an Inventory Run makes it permanent, and Unify3 makes the process easy. The status in the Inventory Run list will change to Posted after it has been posted.
